Last night I finished the House of Comarré series by Kristen Painter.

Left at the door when I opened the book was real life. Kristen did a magnificent job pulling you into her world in such a way that you feel that you are immersed in a whole new world that lies just under the surface of ours.

Her books fill you with the faith and hope of her characters, their loyalty to each-other, and she has you cheering for redemption and salvation of those who feel they are lost. The humanity of her characters who are ‘other than human’ shine through and is wholly believable. The plot twists and turns are unexpected and kept me entranced and enchanted.

By the end of the books you are hoping for a happily ever after for everyone (except for maybe Tatiana).  In the end, you feel that everyone got what they deserved. The way in which Kristen ties up the loose ends with the final books is unique and shows both her compassion and slightly sadistic side.

Overall I recommend this book to anyone who likes Urban Fantasy, Vampire Books, Fantasy, and Distopian works.

I would give the series as a whole 4.5 Stars

four and a half stars
